What newspapers does the Beam Library have?
The Library subscribes to The Daily Oklahoman, The Edmond Evening Sun, The New York Times Sunday ed., and the Wall Street Journal on paper. Each of these titles are kept for the current six months in a closed collection, which means that a librarian must be present while the materials are in use. The newspapers do not circulate and must be used in the library.
The Library also has the following titles in microfilm: The Christian Science Monitor from Jan. 1962-Jan. 1988; The Daily Oklahoman from Jan. 1953-Oct. 1956; and The New York Times from 1851-1877 and 1953 to the present. The microfilm is housed in cabinets on the 3rd floor.
