What is the Student Colloquium?

The Student Colloquium is a university-wide undergraduate student paper competition sponsored by the Beam Library. A faculty committee representing a variety of disciplines judges the papers. The top three papers are presented by their authors to the OC faculty during the Colloquium luncheon in April. Faculty, administrators, and guests of the presenters are invited to attend. Sometimes the Colloquium is a joint event with the Honors Catalyst Awards presentations. All submitted papers will be bound and placed in the Beam Library. A student may submit only one paper each year and joint authorship is permitted. Specific submission dates and an explanation of submission procedures is published on the Beam Library's website in January.
